One of my favorite bands, Ween, has a song named "Like a japanese cowboy". That's pretty much a hilarious song, because obviously there is no such thing, and had there been such a thing, it would just be too silly.
That however, did not stop these guys from making this show. Featuring nothing less than... You guessed it: A japanese cowboy.
My, oh my. Stop right there! Is this for real?
I'll admit to being extremely shallow and the main reason I started watching this show was because I saw that Yaguchi Mari was in the cast. None the less, after watching one episode of this show, I was hooked. Its just awesome.
Awesome as in extremely goofy, yet keeping it's cool. It pretty much defies convention and the producers evidently did whatever they felt like. Not everyone was happy about this, and a few reviewers even claimed that this show proved that japanese television had hit a new low.
Fuck them. If you like somewhat goofy stuff, if you don't mind entertainment having a few logical breaches and disagreements with reality, this show is simply awesome.
So, if you haven't already done so, use your net-fu and get some subtitled episodes DLed pronto.
Or you can also stream it realtime, with subtitles, at AZNV. There you have to pay for stuff, but I truly recommend this site to whoever enjoys asian entertainment.
